Belarusian dictatorship has recieved last tranche of IMF loan

The last tranche of the International Monetary Fund's loan, $670 million in the framework of stand-by program, has been recieved by Belarus.

"Interfax" has been informed about that by the information department of the National Bank of Belarus (NBB).

Like previous loans of the IMF, this tranche has been credited to gold and currency reserves, which were equal to $5577.2 mln as of March 1, 2010 (1.3% less then in the beginning of the year).

Terms of oil supplies to Belarus based on Kremlin’s scenario

Moscow is going to follow the acting arrangements regarding supplies of Russia oil to Belarus.

It was announced in Moscow on March 30 by Aleksey Likhachev, the director of the foreign trade analysis and regulation department of the Economic Development Ministry, REGNUM informs.

March 25 is the 92th anniversary of declaration of the Belarusian People's Republic.

The official authorities of Belarus do not recognize this date, but the democratic community celebrates it every year as Freedom Day.

Festive events dedicated to this holiday are to take place in Belarus and abroad today.

Lyabedzka fined for solidarity with Union of Poles

The leader of the United Civil party fined 30 basic units.

On March 25 the court of Valozhyn districy considered a case against the leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka, who was detained in Valozhyn on February 15 near the building of a military base where the trial over Tereza Sobal was held, BelaPAN informs.

Mahilou militia refuses to return passports to German volunteers

The German volunteers who were detained in Mahilou on March 24 cannot receive their passports back.

On March 26, German volunteers Solwei Schoris and Susana Paul came to the Leninski district militia department in Mahilou to take their passports back. According to Euroradio, Mikhail Luhautsou, an officer in charge of immigration, simply told them to get out.

German volunteers arrested in Mahilou

Volunteers from Germany were detained in the pedagogical institute and accused of unlawful activity that can lead to deportation.

According to local human rights activists, German volunteers Solwei Schoris and Susana Paul, invited to a meeting with students, were detained in the pedagogical institute in Mahilou.

As informed by the press service of Viasna human rights center, militiamen guarded the German volunteers to the Leninski district militia department on an accusation of illegal activity. The volunteers came to Belarus about five months ago on an invitation of Blue Shores Foundation, an NGO dealing with physically challenged children with artistic skills.
