Transneft: Venezuelan oil for Belarus can disrupt oil deliveries to Europe

The Russian company "Transneft" is against Odessa-Brody pipeline in obverse mode.

A test pumping of oil via Odessa-Brody pipeline in obverse mode started on November 20. It is to be pumped from Brody to Mozyr oil refinery (Belarus) through "Druzhba" trunk pipeline.

At the moment, according to "Transneft", oil pumping through Odessa-Brody pipeline in obverse mode and pumping through "Druzhba" are carried out without interruption. But running of one of the pipelines on the absolute limit is connected with risks of disruption of export deliveries or absence of possibility to increase their volume when needed, the company believes.

"Our observer at Mihalki oil pumping station in Belarus has confirmed that there are no technical failures, related to the obverse mode. However, we are concerned about the situation when the pipeline, running on the absolute limit towards our customers. We intend to inform our consumers in Western Europe, as well as the transit countries, with official letters," the representative of "Transneft" Igor Demin said to RIA Novosti news agency.

As said by him, "deliveries of Russian oil to the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia and south Germany could be affected."
