Homel dweller fails to repeat dictator’s trick

Uladzimir Nyapomnyashchykh wanted to mark his birthday on the same day with Alyaksandr Lukashenka and his younger son.

The Civil Registry Office of the Chyhunachny district of Homel denied the city dweller correct the date of his birth. He wanted to have the date of his birth on August 31 instead of September 31, BelaPAN reports.

Uladzimir Nyapomnyashchykh, a retired militia officer, activist of the United Civil Party, For Freedom movement and Independent Trade Union of Radio Electronics Workers, applied to the Civil Registry Office on September 8 asking to change the date of his birth.

"I want to celebrate my birthday on the same day with Kolya Lukashenka and his father, Alyaksandr Lukashenka," the man explained. He wrote in his application to the Civil Registry Office that he was born September 1, 1952. "In 1939, the World War II started on that day. For more than 50 years, this fact has alloyed my birthday. The reason is the terrible beginning of the bloody tragedy of millions of innocent victims," the applicant writes.

Uladzimir would like to mark his birthday on the same day with president and his younger son. "I would be so happy to have my birthday on August 31, too. Not all people may have such an honour."

According to Nyapomnyashchykh, the Civil Registry Office explained its denial by the fact that the applicant hadn't showed documents proving the date of his birth was August 31. the Office reffered to a number of regulatory legal acts, in particular the Code on Marriage and Family, a number of regulations, the decree On Administrative Procedures Executed by Governmental Bodies and Other Organizations on Citizens' Applications.

"It was a sun-around reply of the Civil Registry Office. I didn't say my birthday was on August 31, I just asked to change the date. But it seems that only one person in this country can do whatever eh wants. The others do not have the right to change one's date of birth," Nyapomnyashchykh said.

We remind that Lukashenka changed the date of his birth from August 30 to August 31.
