This ruling was passed by the court of Savetski district of Minsk on October 19.
An activist of "Tell the Truth!" campaign Mikhail Bashura was fined 500 basic units (Br 17.5 mln). Bashura was found guilty of the accusations presented; however the court limited the punishment to a fine, BelaPAN reports.
The activist was detained in Minsk on August 6. He was charged under two parts of Article 380 of the Criminal Code (forgery, fabrication, use or sale of false documents, stamps, seals, printed forms). The punishment under this article is up to three years of imprisonment. The court proceedings started on October 11.
Bashura has not pleaded guilty. He said a salary slip about his income was made by him while a bookkeeper of the company and the director were absent, and he had no evil design to forge the documents.
