Belarus is Europe’s price rise leader


According to Eurostat's latest data, Belarus is still among European leaders at consumer price growth.

The biggest rise in consumer prices in comparison with July 2010 was recorded in Belgium (2%), Ukraine, Luxemburg and Malta (1–1.2%); for a period since the beginning of the year – in Malta (6.5%), Romania (5.6%), and Belarus (5.1%), Internet newspaper "My" writes.

A decrease in food prices in August was recorded in Hungary (2.7%), Latvia (2%), Poland, France, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic (1–1.5%).

The EU average food price in August went down by 0.3%. the price rise was only 1.2% since the start of the year.
