The markets of these countries are the key ones to many Belarusian companies.
Ukrainians complaint not only about high prices for our butter, but for Belarusian dumping as well. Ukrainian Ministry of Economy is conducting three investigations at once, which may touch upon the interests of Belarusian suppliers. With such a tempo Kiev may become a leader in the number of "trade wars" with Belarus, jostling Russia, "Tomorrow of your country" writes.
Already this month expires the term given for special investigation which Ukrainian Ministry of Economy conducts in respect of supplies of float glass to the internal market. It touches directly upon Belarusian producer – JSC "Gomelglass".
The examination of one more investigation is planed to conclude in January, 2011. It is conducted in connection with the written request of a number of Ukrainian producers of refrigerators and freezers headed by "Nord" group. It is not said straight that the investigation is directed against Belarusian "Atlant".
In March, 2011 the verdict, whether they have their future in the Ukrainian market, will be rendered to Belarusian tires producers as well. In the written request of the Ukrainian company "Rosava", directed to the Economy Ministry, it is said straight about the threat from Belarus, exactly, in a form of dumping. Belarusian tires for cars trouble Ukrainians. An antidumping investigation has been launched on a written request of "Rosava".
In total, six limiting measures in respect of Belarusian producers and their goods were introduced by Ukrainian authorities. They touched upon Belarusian wooden fiberboard, artificial furs, pile cloths, compressors (antidumping measures), steel pipes, and matches (special protection measures).
For the time being only Russia is more active than Ukrainians in protecting its market from Belarusians– Belarusian Foreign Ministry counted 12 protectionist decisions taken to the prejudice of our export to the Russian market.
Belarusians protect their market with in similar way – from Russians and Ukrainians. The fact that the markets of these countries are key ones for many domestic companies alerts a lot, and also the fact that Russia and Ukraine find quickly the points of contact in recent time. Their joint trade war against Belarus – now this perspective does not seem to be fantastic.
