Rates of excise duties for alcohol and tobacco goods to be increased since September this year.
It has been stated today by the head of the main directorate of tax policy and budget income of the Finance Ministry of Belarus Dzmitry Kiyko, Belta informs.
Rates of excise duties for alcohol are planned to be increased by 10%, and about 20% for tobacco goods. Now consensus building for these documents is under way.
"There are several reasons for which we are to make that," Dzmitry Kiyko noted. "We have an agreement with the International Monetary Fund on necessity of increasing excise duties' rates in the framework of stand-by programme. Besides, the state anti-alcoholism programme includes advance increase of the rates of excise duties for alcohol and tobacco goods in 2009-2010".
