Kyrgyz government: "Destructive activities are carried out from Belarusian territory"

The interim government of Kyrgyzstan is indignant at actions of the Belarusian authorities.

"Destructive activities against our country are carried out from the territory of friendly Belarus," stated the Chief of Staff of the provisional government of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baysalov (Baisalov), commenting statements by Kurmanbek Bakiyev.

"Bakiyev is a private individual, he has been ousted and not recognised a president either by the wolrd community or the people of Kyrgyzstan. We believe that the Belarusain government does not contribute to normalization of the situation in Kyrgyzstan. They should have reminded the private individual Bakiyev about the necessity to observe hospitality customs," Baysalov stated.

We remind that at a press-conference in Minks on April 23 Bakiyev called the events in Bishkek "armed seizure of power". He underlined that under the law he remains the president of Kyrgyzstan, but he is not going to return bakc to his country as the leader of the state. As said by Bakiyev, the provisional government of Kyrgyzstan had hurried with dissolution of the parliament and the Constitutional court. "As a result, Bakiyev is the president now. There are no other legitimate authorities in Kyrgyzstan now in fact," he underlined.

Bakiyev expressed readiness to contribute to legitimization of the new authorities in Kyrgyzstan: "I am ready to be used to appoint somebody legitimately, for them to enter the legal environment. I do not hold on to my position of the president, and particularly after what had happened. Being in Belarus, I am ready to render any support to the people of Kyrgyzstan".

The ousted president also stated that the US peacekeeping forces should be brought into Bishkek and an international commission should be set up to investigate the events in Kyrgyzstan.

Edil Baysalov in his turn noted that the head of the provisional government Roza Otunbayeva had offered creation of such a commission long ago.

"The Republic of Kyrgyzstan is already in the process of negotiations with the leadering world states, the UN leadership, the standing and current members of the Security Council of the Un, leaders of the CIS. We want to recieve the highest mandate for the work of this international commission. And Kurmanbek Bakiyev is not an initiator of this international investigation, but the main person involved in a case," underlined the Chief of Staff of the interim government of Kyrgyzstan.
